Candied Prosciutto

Hope they saved room for dessert! This Candied Prosciutto recipe is the perfect way to satisfy your guest’s sweet tooth. You can turn any boring dessert into a culinary curiosity by dropping caramelized candied prosciutto on top. Ready in three minutes, this recipe only calls for sugar and some leftover crunchy Prosciutto di Parma slices. Candied Prosciutto is the perfect ice cream or pastry topping, but is delicious and powerful enough to stand on its own as a tasty snack.


3 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups Prosciutto di Parma scraps or slices, crunchy


Melt sugar slowly in a medium-size saucepan, add prosciutto and mix for 3 minutes.

Spread mixture over a sheet pan with wax or parchment paper on it.

Let cool and break apart to crumble.
